Description

Recruit Secure is collaborating with a large (180+ beds), highly rated (4-star) Skilled Nursing Home in the Middletown, Nj area that is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and caring Infection Control Preventionist RN. The Infection Control Nurse will be responsible for the facility's Infection Control and Prevention program and will oversee the management, assessment, and documentation of infections within the facility and ensure that all policies and surveillance programs are up to date and meet all CDC, Federal, State, and DOH regulatory compliance standards.

The successful candidate will have supervisory experience in Skilled Nursing Homes and in-depth knowledge of infection control protocols, and APIC or CDC certification (or be working towards this certification) and have great communication skills to interact with physicians, families, and nursing staff. Additionally, the Infection Control Preventionist will be responsible for the ongoing education of infection prevention for staff and residents and facilitate the Orientation programs.

This position reports directly to the Director of Nursing.

Requirements:

  • BRN degree preferred but not mandatory
  • Current NJ- RN License – a must
  • Certification - APIC – CIC OR CDC certification OR be willing to be certified
  • Experience (at least 2 year) working in a Skilled Nursing Home-  a must
  • 1+ years experience working with Infection Control policies, procedures, reporting, and the ability to train Nursing staff
  • In-depth understanding of Infectious protocols and regulatory compliance
  • Knowledgeable of State and Federal regulations and compliance guidelines
  • Able to participate in QAPI meetings and lead IC meetings
  • Develop, maintain, and revise patient care/ Infection Control policies as needed
  • Strong problem resolution skills
