Recruit Secure is collaborating with a beautiful, large (300+ beds) 5-star-rated Skilled Nursing Facility located in the Hempstead, NY area that is seeking an experienced, dynamic and caring Infection Control (RN). The Infection Control Nurse will be responsible for the facilities Infection Control and Prevention program and will oversee the management, assessment and documentation of infections within the facility and ensure that all policies and surveillance programs are up to date and meet all CDC, Federal, State and DOH regulatory compliance standards.

The successful candidate will have supervisory experience in Skilled Nursing Homes and in-depth knowledge of infection control protocols, an APIC or CDC certification (or be working towards this certification) and have great communication skills to interact with physicians, families and nursing staff. Additionally, the Infection Control – Nurse Educator will be responsible for the on-going education of infection prevention for staff and residents and facilitate the Orientation programs.

This position reports directly to the Director of Nursing.

Requirements:

· BRN degree preferred but not mandatory

· Current NY RN License

· Certification - APIC – CIC OR CDC certification OR be willing to be certified

· Experience (at least 2 years) working in skilled nursing homes

· In-depth understanding of Infectious protocols and regulatory compliance

· Knowledgeable with State and Federal regulations and compliance guidelines

· Able to participate in QAPI meetings and lead IC meetings

· Develop, maintain, and revise patient care/ Infection Control policies as needed

· Strong problem resolution skills
. Desire to collaborate, train and mentor nursing staff on Infectious control best practices
