Recruit Secure is collaborating with a highly rated Assisted Living Community located in the Mt.Vernon, Virginia area and they are seeking a dynamic Director of Recreation. This role is responsible for planning and implementing fun activity's for the community to participate in. The Director reports to the Executive Director and works closely with all departments to ensure active resident engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Hire, train, and supervise activity staff  (+volunteers)
• Develop and coordinate a variety of engaging programs that cater to resident needs which includes special programming for memory care residents.
• Encourage community participation and engagement.
• Financial budgeting for the recreational department which includes keeping proper documentation of ordering, and managing department supplies.
• Host and coordinate special events, transportation, off site outings etc.
• Demonstrate's community outreach, family educational sessions and support groups.

Requirements:

• MUST HAVE PRIOR ALF EXPERIENCE AS A DIRECTOR OF RECREATION.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred in recreation, social work, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in activity planning and lead staff supervision.
• Knowledge of memory care and specialized programming.
• Organization, and communication skills.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
