Recruit Secure is collaborating with a large (100+ beds), highly rated (4-star) Skilled Nursing Home in the Newark, NJ area that is seeking an experienced, dynamic and caring Infection Control RN.  The Infection Control Nurse will be responsible for the facility's Infection Control and Prevention program and will oversee the management, assessment, and documentation of infections within the facility and ensure that all policies and surveillance programs are up to date and meet all CDC, Federal, State, and DOH regulatory compliance standards.

The successful candidate will have supervisory experience in Skilled Nursing Homes and in-depth knowledge of infection control protocols, an APIC or CDC certification is a big plus. and have great communication skills to interact with physicians, families, and nursing staff. Additionally, Infection Control will be responsible for the ongoing education on infection prevention for staff and residents and facilitate the Orientation programs.

This position reports directly to the Director of Nursing.

Requirements:

  • BRN degree preferred but not mandatory
  • Current NJ- RN License – a must
  • Certification - APIC – CIC OR CDC certification a big plus.
  • Experience (at least 2 -3 years) working  in a skilled Nursing Home a must
  • 2+ years’ experience working with Infection Control policies, procedures and reporting to all healthcare agencies
  • In-depth understanding of Infectious protocols and regulatory compliance
  • Knowledgeable with State and Federal regulations and compliance guidelines
  • Able to participate in QAPI meetings and lead IC meetings
  • Develop, maintain, and revise patient care/ Infection Control policies as needed
  • Strong problem-resolution skills
